In recent days, digital copies of unverified court records, emails and other material linked to Epstein’s network have reignited debate about a number of public figures whose names appear in the files. Among them, Kashyap is known for acclaimed films like – Gangs of Wasseypur And black Friday – In an email exchange he was referred to as a “Bollywood boy” and a “famous Bollywood director”.

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Kashyap strongly denied any involvement or association with Epstein or the events mentioned in the documents. Kashyap said, “I have no idea about it. I get about 15 invitations a month as a speaker. I rarely respond.” He underlined that he often receives invitations from various organizations and forums. “Besides, I have never been to Beijing in my life,” he said, referring to the alleged incident location mentioned in the circulated files.

Commenting on the nature of the documents and the speculations surrounding them, the filmmaker questioned their credibility. “It’s some random email, it’s self-explanatory. Clickbait in my name are more popular than my films,” Kashyap said, dismissing sensationalist headlines that have linked him to Epstein-related activities.

At the center of the current controversy are millions of pages of material released by the US Justice Department related to the investigation of Epstein’s criminal network. The renewed public release of these files has sparked a wave of global comment as researchers and journalists examine the documents.

Other Indian filmmakers, including Mira Nair and Nandita Das, have also been exposed in the files, but analysts have cautioned against drawing conclusions without corroborating records.
