Ranbir Kapoor is carefully planning his next step in what is shaping up to be one of the most important steps of his career. RK is currently working on Ramayan and Love & War, and is expected to complete both the projects by October 2026. IHNS has exclusively learned that Kapoor has already started figuring out what will happen next even before he arrives at the Animal Park.
Sources reveal that Ranbir is actively reading multiple scripts with the intention of locking a film that could go on floors before Animal Park, the production of which is expected to begin by the end of 2027. Currently, two high-profile projects have emerged at the forefront, Brahmastra 2, which will be directed by Ayan Mukerji, and the much-awaited reboot Dhoom 4, which will be backed by Yash Raj Films.
A source revealed, “Ranbir has heard ideas for both Brahmastra 2 and Dhoom 4, and has liked the worlds created in each of them. However, he is waiting for the bound script before taking a final decision.” He told that both films come with their own challenges.
While Dhoom 4 is still in the early stages and the studio is yet to lock in a director for the reboot, Brahmastra 2 is facing casting hurdles. The sequel, which continues the fantasy universe, was initially expected to include Deepika Padukone in the role of Amrita alongside Ranbir’s Dev. However, since Deepika is expecting her second child, the makers are now exploring the possibility of a change in casting for her role.
Despite the challenges, Ranbir is excited about both the projects. “Between Dhoom 4 and Brahmastra 2, Brahmastra is currently the frontrunner to be his next film. But as we know, it doesn’t take time for things to change in Bollywood and many factors need to align for Brahmastra 2 to go on floors,” the source cautioned.
Hopefully, Ranbir Kapoor will have a clear picture after hearing the final draft by June 2026. Even though both these issues are in the news, Ranbir is keeping his options open and exploring more scripts. He has been meeting several filmmakers in his spare time between shoots, and is looking for an exciting project to fill the dates between Ramayan 2 and Animal Park.
The source further added, “Sandeep Vanga is committed to launching Animal Park by the end of 2027 and he has already had several rounds of discussions with Ranbir Kapoor in this regard.”
Now, only time will tell what’s next for Ranbir Kapoor fans!
