It has been exclusively revealed that the upcoming political-economic drama has been given a UA 13+ certificate, removing a significant hurdle in its journey to theatres.

The certification comes just days ahead of the film’s scheduled release on June 12, 2026, and is likely to increase anticipation among film buffs eager to see Manoj Bajpayee in another performance-driven role.

At the center of the story is Manoj Bajpayee, who plays the role of a determined Governor who is entrusted with the responsibility of leading the country during a time of uncertainty and immense pressure. The film aims to chronicle the difficult decisions, strategic thinking and resilience that helped shape an important chapter in the country’s economic journey.
Supported by Sunshine Pictures, Governor Directed by Chinmay Mandlekar and produced by Vipul Amritlal Shah, starring Aashin A. Shah serves as co-producer. The screenplay is written by Suvendu Bhattacharyaji, Saurabh Bharat, Ravi Asrani and Vipul Amrutlal Shah.
The film also stars Adah Sharma and Madhu in lead roles. Adding to its creative credentials, the project has lyrics by veteran poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar, while the music is composed by Amit Trivedi.
