Exclusive: Shooting of Akshay Kumar-starrer Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat completed, post-production underway; The makers are eyeing a January 1, 2027 release

As the industry, business and fans prepare for Raja Shivaji This Friday, news started coming in about another ambitious film on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, which was launched with much fanfare a few years ago – Vedat Maratha brave ran seven. Akshay Kumar plays the role of the great emperor in this film directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. Reports state that the film has not been completed and questions have been raised as to whether it will ever be released.  It has been learned that contrary to these reports, the film is quite on track.

A source told “The shooting of the film has been successfully completed and right now, the post-production is going on. There have been delays indeed, but a team is working dedicatedly on the film on a regular basis.”

The source further added, “Akshay Kumar has shot for 25 days for the film and has brought life to the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Additionally, Mahesh Manjrekar has set the film on a grand scale. It has become one of the grandest films of Indian cinema.”

When asked about the release date, the source said, “The makers have not locked the release yet, but currently, they are eyeing the January 1, 2027 slot. An official announcement will be made once the makers finalize the release.”

Apart from Akshay Kumar Vedat Maratha brave ran seven It also stars Mahesh Manjrekar’s son Satya along with Praveen Tarde, Jai Dudhane, Hardik Joshi, Vishal Nikam, Utkarsh Shinde and Virat Madke. This period action film will be released in Hindi, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu.

Vedat Maratha brave ran seven It will discuss the historic Battle of Nesari on February 24, 1674, where seven brave men led by commander Prataprao Gujar fought against the massive army of the Adilshahi general, Bahlol Khan.
