Exclusive: Sukhwinder Singh opens up about his deep relationship with Shah Rukh Khan: ‘When I saw that person on screen…’

Popular Indian singer Sukhwinder Singh recently sat down exclusively with IHNS and talked about his illustrious career in the film and music industry. The singer also talked about his relationship with Shahrukh Khan, for whom he sang many chartbuster songs throughout his career.

Speaking about his relationship with King Khan, Sukhwinder Singh said, “I love him immensely, because he is my first hero where my voice rose on the screen. My first song is Chaiya Chaiya with Shahrukh. Us insaan ko parde pe jab dekha toh… Meri awaaz ka wo first hero. Phir woh laad pyaar zabardast tarikhe se hai hamara.”

The award-winning singer further elaborated and recalled a fond memory from his early days in the film industry. He said, “Once for a show, he (Shah Rukh Khan) had to perform on stage for 45 minutes. There are some of our heroes who are very beautiful actors, but they do not like to perform on stage. It must have been fixed for 45 minutes… The organizer came running to me, saying that we will drown. I said, what happened? He said that he has been praising you for 30 minutes, then we will perform together for an hour.’
