These days, Akshay Kumar is making headlines for his recently released film Bhoot Bangla, which is performing well at the box office. Meanwhile, reports are doing the rounds on social media that Khiladi Kumar, under Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, is teaming up with Baahubali 2 fame Rana Daggubati for a grand period thriller based in the backdrop of Ujjain. It is reported that Chandu Mondeti, who previously directed Karthikeya and Thandel, is directing this project. Although this sounds exciting, the truth is far from reality.
IHNS has exclusively learned that no such film is being made as was reported in the media. We reached out to Akshay Kumar’s team to cross-check, but learned that these are just rumors and nothing more. A senior representative of Akshay Kumar told us, “This is not true. This is fake.”
Akshay Kumar is currently enjoying the success of Bhoot Bangla. Directed by Priyadarshan, the horror comedy is on its way to emerge as a clean hit venture at the box office thanks to its positive word-of-mouth and impressive box office trends. This has emerged as his fourth consecutive success in a span of a year after Kesari Chapter 2, Housefull 5 and Jolly LLB 3.
On the work front, Akshay Kumar will next be seen in Welcome to the Jungle, which is scheduled to release on June 26, 2026, followed by Haiwaan. Interestingly, Havan will return to negative space after a long time. He has two films currently on the floors- a family comedy drama with Anees Bazmee and Golmaal 5. Both these titles are expected to hit the big screens in 2027. Let us tell you, Akshay Kumar will be seen as the main villain in Ajay Devgan and Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal 5. Apart from several other projects in talks, the actor also has Bhagam Part 2 in the pipeline.
