In a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, Farhan reflected on the setbacks and uncertainty, saying that the experience has taught him an important lesson: always expect surprises.

Speaking candidly, Farhan said, “What I’ve learned is to expect the unexpected. Nothing can be taken for granted until it actually happens on film. That’s really it.”
He looks back at the beginning of his career and the people who believed in him in the beginning. He shared, “I also think that from the moment I started, from the moment when Aamir Khan, Akshay Khanna, Preity Zinta, Dimple Kapadia, Saif Ali Khan and Ritesh Sidhwani were my partners, till they came and said yes, ‘let’s make this film’ – from that moment I have had the most incredible journey.”
Farhan said that his career has been largely shaped by meaningful collaborations, be it as a director or as an actor. “It’s just about working with people I want to work with, whether directing them or acting in movies I want to star in with directors. And it’s been amazing.”
He further acknowledged that difficult phases are part of any long career and should be handled with maturity. “You realize that at some point, there will be a period that is a little more challenging. You’ve experienced it well, so it’s OK… just take it in your stride.”
