Gaurav Gera praises Ranveer Singh’s discipline and participation on set in Dhurandhar: The Revenge
In a recent conversation with India Today, Gera described Ranveer as someone who is deeply invested in his work. Pointing to the actor’s focused preparation, he said, “Ranveer is a superstar for a reason, he is very good at what he does. He is extremely organized and completely immersed in the character. He takes keen interest.”
He also talked about Ranveer’s involvement during scenes, even when he was not required to be actively present. Gera said, “I didn’t need him to be there for cues in my scenes, which is often the case on shoots. But he hung in there and was present the whole time. That’s how he is – completely connected to the film.”
Recalling a lighter moment, Gera mentioned his first ‘Chutki-Dukandar’ act which recently resurfaced online amid the discussion of the film. He told that Ranveer immediately recognized him on the set. “He tapped my shoulder and said, ‘How are you Chutki?’ I was surprised because I had a beard and I looked completely different, but she still remembered it,” he said.
Gera also noted the change in Ranveer’s on-screen approach over time, especially while playing Hamza in the film. He explained, “He has evolved a lot as an actor. There is a certain calmness to his performance here, which is very different from how people usually see him in public. That controlled energy comes across very strongly.”
In short, Gera described Ranveer as someone who can easily balance opposite energies both on and off screen. During this time, Dhurandhar: Revenge has consistently performed well in theaters and has maintained its hold at the box office.
