After reading about the immensely talented comedian Rajpal Yadav’s touching declaration in a publication that he has no friends in the film industry, actor Gurmeet Choudhary has come forward to extend financial support to the actor who is jailed in a check-bounce case.

Gurmeet said, “It is heart-breaking to see an actor of Rajpal ji’s seniority behind bars for such a crime when white-collar criminals get away with embezzling lakhs. I am going to do everything possible to help Rajpal ji financially. I also urge my colleagues in the film industry to come forward to help a troubled colleague of theirs. Rajpal ji has given a lot to our entertainment industry. He does not deserve this.”

Last week, before surrendering in Tihar jail in the cheque-bounce case, Rajpal Yadav told this writer, “Sir, kya karoon? Mere paas paise nahi hain (Sir, what should I do? I don’t have the money to pay back). And there doesn’t seem to be any solution.”

When Yadav was asked whether his rich friends from the industry had not come forward to help him, he said, “Sir, we are all alone here. There are no friends. I have to deal with this crisis on my own.”

After his statement went viral, many people from the film industry have come forward to help Rajpal Yadav financially. These include Sonu Sood, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan, David Dhawan and others.
