Hridayapoorvam, with Mohanlal and Malavika Mohanan in the main roles, struck the big screens on August 28, 2025. Directed by the veteran filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad, the film is now preparing for its OTT release.
When and where to look at Hridayapoorvam
Hridayapoorvam is expected to be released on the Ott Jiohotstar platform and will start streaming from September 26, 2025. The streaming partner shared the official announcement via their X handle (formerly Twitter).

Hridayapoorvam follows the story of Sandeep Balakrishnan, a rich and irritable businessman who runs cloud cuisine in Kochi, Kerala. Despite his richness, he saw in isolation and removes his emotions.
After undergoing cardiac transplantation surgery, Sandeep continues to reject the emotional meaning of the organ, simply considering it as a functional replacement. This frustrating state of mind those who expect gratitude on his part.
A few weeks after his operation, Sandeep was invited to Pune for the engagement ceremony of the daughter of her donor of heart, Haritha. However, the circumstances led him to extend his stay and live with Haritha and his family for a while.
As he spends more time with them, Sandeep is gradually starting to understand the emotions linked to the heart he has received, embarking on a journey that transforms his vision of life.
Hridayapoorvam casting and crew
Hridayapoorvam presents Mohanlal in the main role, with Malavika Mohanan as a co-leader. The romantic drama of comedy has an overall set of actors, including Sangeeth Prathap, Sangita Madhavan Nair, Siddique, Lalu Alex, Janardhanan, Baburaj, Nishan, Sabitha Anand and many others in key roles.
Basil Joseph actors, Meera Jasmine and Althaf Salim also appear by Camée.
The film, directed by Sathyan Anthikad, is based on a story written by his son and filmmaker Akhil Sathyan. The script is written by Sonu TP, the project being funded by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad cinemas.
Justin Prabhakaran composed musical tracks and background scores, while Anu Moothedath managed cinematography. In addition, K. Rajagopal was a publisher.
Released for Onam 2025, Hridayapoorvam was well received by criticism, which particularly praised the emotional nucleus, the soundtrack and the performance of Lalettan and Sangeeth.
For the future, Mohanlal will soon return to the big screens with his bilingual film Telugu-Malayalam Vrusshabha, which is released in Diwali. The actor also Drishyam 3 with Jeethu Joseph in the pipeline.
