Lakshya’s journey in the industry had many ups and downs. His first two high-profile films were – fearlesslyco-starring Shanaya Kapoor and Gurfateh Pirzada, and friendly 2 – Had to face failures earlier also. Later, backed by Dharma Productions and directed by Colin D’Cunha, it was initially announced with Kartik Aryan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles.
In 2021, Dharma Productions confirmed that the film would be remade due to “professional circumstances”, following which Karthik exited the project. Despite the changes, Lakshya was expected to remain a part of the sequel.
However, according to a recent report from Filmfare, the project has been delayed once again, due to which Lakshya may have to opt out of the film. The report claims that actor Vikrant Massey will remain associated with the project even if there is a change in the cast. The report quoted a source as saying,friendly 2 It is definitely happening but the cast has not been selected yet.” At present, there is no official confirmation regarding Lakshya’s departure.
Earlier, Vikrant Massey had confirmed his participation in the film while talking to Times Now. Speaking about the project he said, “I am doing friendly 2. I am doing my first Dharma film. You will see me wearing nice designer clothes. Karan sir will ensure that I wear nice clothes and fancy sunglasses. Shooting somewhere in Europe.”
However, the actor did not reveal the name of the female lead in the upcoming film.
