After delaying Jan Nayakan’s big screen debut, the film got leaked online on April 9, 2026, causing a major shock to the industry. Soon after, many veterans condemned the act and demanded strict action against the culprits. Now, in an interview with Sudhir Srinivasan, actress Mamita Baiju reacted.
Describing the film’s leak as “extremely disappointing and extremely painful”, he said that a lot of people’s dreams and hard work went into making the film. Therefore, “none of it should go to waste.” The Kara actress further said that when she first heard the news of the leak on social media, she did not think it was true. “But when the reality came out… my brother was the first to tell me. It’s very unfortunate.”
Jana Naygan’s online leaked update
After the unfortunate incident, the makers of Thalapathy Vijay’s last film warned the public not to judge the film. He also took legal action. Soon, six arrests were made, followed by three more. The main accused was also among the three people who were arrested a few days ago.
According to the state cyber crime branch, they caught the main accused, who was working as a freelance assistant editor for another film. As he shared through a statement, the accused unauthorizedly gained access to the reels of Vijay’s last film in the editing studio and stole it.
The note further reads, “The stolen data was then presented in a film and shared with the co-accused, leading to online circulation and wide dissemination of the pirated copy. All three accused have been arrested, produced before the Hon’ble Court and remanded to judicial custody.” Currently, Jan Nayagan’s future is in danger.
