Karuppu, starring Suriya in the lead role, is an upcoming fantasy action film scheduled to release on May 14, 2026. Just a week before its release, the makers are yet to unveil the trailer. Director RJ Balaji has now addressed the delay and assured fans that it will release soon.
Director RJ Balaji clarifies about delay in Karuppu trailer
Taking to their social media handles, RJ Balaji Shared a video explaining the reason for the delay in the trailer. He said, “Right now we are in the middle of preparations for the release of Karuppu, which is coming next week. But before the release of the film, the trailer should also come, right? It’s ready, and I’m sure you all will love it. Due to the current situation going on around us, and when we all were happy with the results, there were unexpected twists. But we must hope that good things will happen in the end. Let us pray for it. Let the good happen.”
Balaji said, “Till the positive results come in, we wanted to wait and see what happens because we didn’t want to release the trailer just because of other news. So we hope a clear solution comes out soon. We are planning to release the trailer, the extended version of the Veerappa song and finally the film, we hope you enjoy it.”

After Karuppu, Suriya Venky will next be seen in Vishwanath & Sons directed by Atluri. The film is said to be an emotionally driven romantic drama starring Mamita Baiju in the lead role and Raveena Tandon in a pivotal role. It is scheduled to release in theaters in July 2026.
The actor has also started work on a police action-comedy tentatively titled Suriya47. Directed by Jeetu Madhavan, the film stars Nazriya Nazim in the lead role, with Neslen playing a pivotal role.
