Love & War cast all set to shoot grand song with 200 dancers at Royal Palms: Report
The project has been in the news in recent months due to speculations over its shooting schedule and release plans. However, Bhansali recently clarified that the film is largely on track, with around 90 percent of the principal photography already completed.
According to a report in Mid-Day, the next phase of filming will largely focus on the elaborate song sequences. Around 200 dancers are expected to join the lead cast in the sequence. A production insider told the publication, “It’s being designed as a spectacular. It was originally scheduled to start on June 8, but is now starting on the 18th at the Royal Palms.”
The song will reportedly be shot over several days on a specially designed set. Preparation for this sequence has been going on for several weeks, with choreography, costumes, and production design finalized before cameras even started rolling.
The source further added, “Preparations for choreography, costumes and production design have been going on for several weeks. The scale is huge, even by Bhansali’s standards. Every frame is carefully storyboarded, which is why the shooting has been pushed forward by two weeks.”
There has been a temporary halt in the upcoming schedule due to the lead actors’ commitments to other projects. Ranbir Kapoor has recently turned his attention towards Ramayana: Part TwoAs director Nitish Tiwari moves ahead with the next phase of the legendary franchise. Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal is busy preparing and shooting for the film MahavatarIn which he will play the role of Lord Parashuram.
Earlier this year, reports suggested that the remaining part love and warDue to the busy calendars of the stars, challenges were being faced especially in scheduling the climax. The latest schedule appears to mark the beginning of the final phase of the film.
Once filming is complete, focus will turn to post-production, which is expected to be extensive given the scale and visual requirements of the film. The makers have reportedly moved away from previous release targets including Christmas 2025, Eid 2026 and August 2026. This decision was taken to allow enough time for visual effects and post-production work.
Another factor influencing the release strategy is Ranbir Kapoor Ramayana: Part OneWhich is expected to hit theaters in late 2026. To avoid clashes between Ranbir Kapoor’s two major releases, the team behind love and war It is now believed to be targeting a theatrical release in January 2027, possibly around the Republic Day holidays.
