Netflix has officially released the trailer of its much-awaited film, mother sister– A chaotic, fast-paced crime comedy where lies get out of control and suspicion runs wild. With a star-studded powerhouse cast, the film is set to premiere globally on the streaming platform on June 4, 2026.

Produced by Abundantia Entertainment in association with Opening Image Films and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Suresh Triveni (Jalsa, Tumhari Sulu). mother sister Focuses the spotlight on an unforgettably dysfunctional mother-daughter trio. The film turns into a wild rollercoaster when they are suddenly tasked with hiding a dead body in their apartment while managing nosy neighbors, an impending wedding, and their own hilariously fractured dynamic.
The newly released trailer introduces the audience to the chaotic world of Rekha (Madhuri Dixit), Jaya (Trupti Dimri) and Sushma (Dharna Durga). Already at each other’s throats on a routine day, their lives are completely turned upside down when a prominent figure in the community, Gupta ji (Ravi Kishan), unexpectedly dies inside their living room.
What follows is a complete whirlwind of panic, cover-ups, emotional meltdowns and ridiculously questionable decisions. As the film’s text jokingly warns: “Some families abandon values. This family mother sister Hands down Scandal!”
Director and producer Suresh Triveni shared his excitement about the project, saying: “With mother sisterWe wanted to tell a story that is both contained and highly entertaining… The film is about a dysfunctional family… who now have to deal with a ‘scandal’ which results in a lot of chaos, comedy and bizarre situations that they have to hide. The trailer is just a glimpse – the real chaos begins on June 4.”
Departing from traditional maternal ideals, legendary actress Madhuri Dixit said: “Rekha is not your typical Hindi cinema mother, and that’s what makes this character so exciting to me… Rekha may not be a perfect mother, but like any mother, she wants the best for her daughters and tries to keep her family together amidst all the turmoil.”
Reflecting on her return to the streaming platform where she made her debut, Trupti Dimri said: “Jaya is the suave daughter (responsible daughter) of the house, but she also has a keen sense of right and wrong. She is constantly trying to manage the chaos around her, only to fall deeper into it… sharing screen space with the great Madhuri Dixit… is really surreal.”
Buoyed by the massive success of Kaas Legal Hai Season 2, Ravi Kishan expressed his delight at working with the cast: “Thank you mother sisterFinally I got a chance to share the screen with Madhuri ji. Written by Suresh Triveni and Pooja Tolani, with screenplay and dialogues by Tolani, the film features a strong supporting cast including Geetanjali Kulkarni (as Guptain), Arunoday Singh (as Maheshwari), and Shardul Bhardwaj (as Manas).
