Rumors of trouble in their marriage started spreading earlier this week when fans noticed that Mouni and Sooraj had unfollowed each other on Instagram. Social media users also reported that many of Sooraj’s recent photos were reportedly removed or archived from Mouni’s profile, while some of the wedding photos were still visible. Soon after, Sooraj’s Instagram account was deactivated, further fueling the speculation.
The situation gained more attention when reports emerged that actress Disha Patani, considered close to Mouni, had also unfollowed Sooraj on the platform. Addressing the growing speculations, Mouni and Sooraj issued a joint note requesting privacy and urging media outlets to avoid spreading falsehoods about their relationship. “We note with dismay the unnecessary and intrusive attention to our personal lives by some sections of the media,” the statement said.
The couple confirmed their decision to separate, making it clear that the process is being handled privately and respectfully. “We would like to share that we have decided to separate and are taking the necessary time to address matters privately and amicably,” they shared.
Referring to the rumors and discussions going on online, the two said that many of the assumptions made about their relationship were wrong. “An attempt has been made to sensationalize our personal life by circulating fictions and blatant lies, which do not reflect the reality of our relationship,” the note said.
Mouni and Sooraj also stressed that the decision was mutual and based on evolving personal preferences. “After thoughtful reflection on evolving individual priorities, we have decided to move forward on separate paths with mutual respect and understanding,” he wrote.Despite ending their marriage, the two suggested that they hope to maintain an cordial bond going forward. “We will strive to cherish our friendship in times to come,” the statement concluded.
