Christopher Nolan, Matt Damon, Tom Holland and producer Emma Thomas attended the press conference for their film, odysseyIn a five star hotel in South Mumbai. He was one of the privileged few to attend this press conference. Matt surprised everyone by talking about his regret of not doing the film with Shekhar Kapur.
Odyssey Mumbai Press Conference: Matt Damon regrets turning down Shekhar Kapur’s The Four Feathers: “It’s a 20-year-old debt I’m carrying around in my pocket!”
Matt Damon was asked if he would like to work with any Indian filmmaker and who would it be. He said, “The filmmaker with whom everyone wanted to work is Shekhar Kapur. I remember when I couldn’t four wings For some reason and I was really upset with that (laughs). I think I was signed up for this Limit Movies. So, I think he’s always been on my list. I would like to go one more time. It’s like a 20-year-old loan I’m carrying around in my pocket!”
He also talked openly about working odyssey“I had the benefit of those 35 years behind me and (it was an exciting) opportunity to play a role like this; he’s a very fascinating, complex character. But to do it on this scale with Chris – everything practical and everything in camera – it felt like my one chance to do a David Lean film! I’ve always wanted to do that (smiles). I felt so grateful when he called me. I realized what it was going to involve.”
Matt Damon continued, “It required a lot of work from thousands of people. Every single person wanted to be there and nowhere else. We gathered crew members in every country we went to. We knew we were working with specific members who were coming on board for that section to get that set piece, and then you move on. We did that in Greece, Iceland, Morocco, and Italy. It was the most extraordinary group of people who were there just for that reason. Were.”
He laughed, “I had already told Emma about the making of this film. I asked her, ‘What’s your problem?’! I told her I’m so glad I’m not the producer of this film (laughs) because the level of coordination was beyond anyone’s imagination. She told me, ‘It’s like 6 or 7 films, but we’ve actually made each of these films already. We’ve gone underwater with this. dunkirk (2017), We’ve been in the mountains batman. We have made all these films and so, we are ready to make it.
Matt Damon concluded, “I used every tool in the toolkit and every experience I’ve gathered over the course of my life to prepare for this moment. And I had the privilege of doing it with the most extraordinary group of people.”
