Patriot added Rs. It earned Rs 2.60 crore on the first Monday, registering a huge decline of almost 70 per cent as compared to Sunday (third day). This is a significant decline, which is a matter of concern for manufacturers. Ideally it should have maintained a strong hold. If the film cannot show promising momentum going forward, it may prove to be a failure at the box office.
The Patriot has a running low of Rs. Reached. It grossed Rs 21.35 crore at the Kerala box office in its 4-day theatrical run. Based on current trends, the film is expected to make around Rs. 15,000 in its first week. 25 crores to Rs. 28 crores gross.
Considering the production scale and big star cast, the film directed by Mahesh Narayanan is performing moderately at the box office. It will be interesting to see how it performs going forward and where it ultimately reaches. The possibility of it reaching the Rs 100 crore gross box office club in Kerala now seems a distant dream.

For those unaware, Patriot is one of the biggest films of Malayalam cinema to date. The film marks the reunion of two legends of Mollywood, Mohanlal and Mammootty, after almost 18 years. It also stars Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, Darshana, Indrans and others. The next big release of Malayalam cinema is Drishyam 3. It will be interesting to see whether the Mohanlal starrer manages to live up to the cult status of its franchise.
