Since its announcement, King continues to be one of the most followed upcoming projects in Hindi cinema. The film has recently completed shooting a major action sequence starring Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter Suhana Khan, which is largely set against the backdrop of Vijayadashami festival.

According to a report in Mid-Day, the sequence was designed to recreate the scale and atmosphere of the traditional Vijayadashami procession. “The team recreated the scale and energy of the Vijayadashami procession with the drums, colors and frenzy seen on the day of immersion,” a source quoted by the publication said.
The scene reportedly involved a large crowd, with hundreds of background artists taking part in the shoot. The father-daughter duo filmed the elaborate action sets over eight nights. The source also revealed that Suhana performed several stunts for the sequence, which is one of the more physically demanding parts of her role in the film.
King It has attracted significant attention since its initial development. Discussions around the project began in January 2024 when producer Sajid Nadiadwala reportedly pitched the title of the film to Shah Rukh Khan. Later, in August 2024, the actor confirmed that the project would be his next film.
Initially, Sujoy Ghosh was attached to direct the film. However, the project later brought in Siddharth Anand – who previously collaborated with Shah Rukh Khan in the 2023 blockbuster Pathan-Take charge as Director.
The film stars an ensemble cast including Rani Mukherjee, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan and Arshad Warsi. For Suhana Khan, this film will mark her big screen debut after her first acting appearance in ArchiesWhich premiered on OTT. Siddharth Anand had also confirmed this earlier this year. King It is scheduled for theatrical release during Christmas 2026.
