Shocking: After Marvel fame, Mohan Kapoor puts Hollywood career on pause; Blamed for ‘Uncle Trump’ and anti-immigration mood in America
Mohan Kapoor told, “The industry is going through a bit of turmoil there. Also, the way uncle Trump (President Donald Trump) is behaving (the situation is quite uncertain). In November 2025, my work visa expires. I am not renewing it now. I am afraid that if I renew it and go to the States, I may have to return disappointed. Producers may argue, ‘Why do we need actors from outside? Don’t Asians live there? Why don’t we cast them? So, I said.to this (Trump) let go. Once he leaves, I will come back.”
Mohan explained why it had no effect on him, “I am an actor. You put me anywhere. I will do my job. That’s my attitude’‘The night is gone, the matter is gone’. I don’t dwell on past glories or failures. Both are part of life and hence, I forget about them. I don’t wake up the next day and see what feedback my character is getting. I don’t give as**t. I have done my work. I respect both praise and criticism and I love it when people take the time to comment about my work.”
He continued, “I can’t go into an uncertain situation. My manager in LA right now is. He commented, ‘Due to the current atmosphere Anti-immigration, like before, characters are no longer being written with the immigrant population in mind. He is alright. By the grace of God, India is my workplace and my birthplace. The people here are giving me respect and love.”
Mohan added, “Some people tell me, ‘Now you will leave us for Hollywood.’ Why would I do that? Tomorrow, if I get a job in Uzbekistan, I will go there. I have a bag. Wherever I am called, I am ready to go.”
