Actress and singer Suchitra Krishnamurthy has publicly criticized ICICI Lombard General Insurance, alleging that the company had refused to cover her previous ulcer-related hospitalization expenses. Sharing an update on her health in the early hours of July 16, 2026, the actress also accused the insurer of making unreasonable demands while processing her claim.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Suchitra revealed that she was not able to sleep due to severe acidity and recalled her previous experience with the insurance company.

“It’s 1.45 am and I can’t sleep due to severe acidity. I have an ulcer. And last time my ulcer was in danger of bursting I had to be hospitalized and guess what @icicilombard refused to cover my hospitalization expenses because I had not declared my ulcer while taking the policy.”

He further alleged that he did not have ulcers when he purchased the policy and questioned the company’s request for medical proof.

“But I did not have ulcers at the time of taking the policy and now they are asking for a doctors certificate to confirm that I did not have ulcers at the time of taking the policy. After this they will insist on the car number which already kills you so that your family can make a claim. Shame on you @ICICILombard. I am very disappointed. I do not care about the refund anymore. I will expose the fraud in their operation.”

ICICI Lombard responded to the allegations

Responding to Suchitra’s post, the official X handle of ICICI Lombard General Insurance said that it had already addressed the issue and requested her to share the details if she has filed any new claim.

“Dear Suchitra, We have already responded regarding the matter raised earlier. As of now, we have not received any new claim request from you. If you have submitted a new claim, we request you to please share the relevant details via DM so that we can verify it and assist you further.”

The company has not commented publicly on the actress’ specific allegations beyond this response.
