Sumathi Valavu producer Murali Kunnampurath has alleged that the film’s makers have cheated him. The businessman shared a video on social media in which he cried while blaming the film team.

Speaking in a video shared online, Murali Kunnampurath said, “I believe most of you know me. Many of you might have seen the film Vellam. What was shown in that film was for cinema; this is not my real life. I am just an ordinary person.”
The businessman said, “I have reached the point where there is no option but to die. I suffered a loss of about Rs 2 crore in this. Then came Sumati Valavu. I was confident that it would be a huge success. But now my life is completely over. I feel like I have no option but to die. I haven’t lived enough. I did not fulfill my wishes. But because of this film I suffered a loss of around Rs 7 crore.
Murali said that he can’t stop anymore and he really can’t continue this. He told that he already had a lot of debt and the situation had become even worse. He said he felt as if he was drifting away. The producer expressed regret that he did not spend enough time with his wife and children, but said that the lenders were not letting him live in peace.
The producer said that everyone cheated and fooled him, which led to his condition. He apologized to everyone, admitting that he had caused trouble to many people. He urged others to never drink, saying that this had become his life, and finished by apologizing to his friends.
