The mystery of Madras – Fall of A Superstar is a criminal dramatic series in the context of Madras of the 1940s. History focuses on the infamous case of Lakshmikanthan, which sent shock through India at the time.
The high -level criminal trial, conducted in the presidency of British India at the time, turned around the death of a Tamil journalist, Lakshmikanthan, who was fatally stabbed on November 7, 1944.
His case led to a sensational series of tests, with suspects such as the very first superstar of Tamil cinema, MK Thyagaraja Bhagavathar. Besides him, actor NS Krishnan and director Srimulu Naidu were also involved. Naidu was finally acquitted.
Thyagaraja and Krishnan were found guilty and imprisoned until 1947, when a new trial finally acquitted them. However, the damage led Thyagaraja to lose his morale, and he lived in extreme poverty until his death in 1959.
The series is likely to disentangle the mystery surrounding the case and to explore the life of the former renowned superstar.

The actress was seen for the last time in the film Tamoul Thirumanam Enum Nikkah (2014), co-star with Jai.
