The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has strongly opposed the controversial model-actress Poonam Pandey, depicting Ravana’s wife Mandodari at UNESCO-Andorsed Ramlila in Delhi.

Poonam Pandey is notorious to orchestrate condemnable controversies, like promising to strip for the Indian cricket team. Last year, she was reported to have falsely announced that she had cervical cancer.
Love Kush Ramlila is one of the most famous staged interpretation of Ramayana held every year during the Dussehra festival in the Red Fort.
VHP’s Delhi region’s secretary Surendra Gupta said in a letter to the organizers, “The artists for Ramilles should not only be selected on the basis of acting, but also keeping in mind the cultural suitability and the feelings of the devotees. Keeping in mind these ideals.”
