Veteran actor-singer Sulakshana Pandit has passed away at the age of 71, her brother Lalit Pandit confirmed in a statement to PTI. Sulakshana died when she was being taken to Nanavati Hospital.

According to Lalit Pandit, “She died due to cardiac arrest around 7 pm. She had complained of breathlessness and was looking a little unwell. We were taking her to Nanavati Hospital, but she died before reaching the hospital.”
The iconic artiste died on Thursday, November 6, 2025, on his way to Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital after he developed breathing problems the previous evening.
Sulakshana Pandit won praise as both an actor and playback singer. He started his film career in 1975 confusion Worked with Sanjeev Kumar and with leading stars like Rajesh Khanna, Shashi Kapoor and Vinod Khanna. His filmography includes titles such as Hesitation, Hera Pheri, Family, Dharam Khanta, Two-time bread And blond among many others.
Along with this, she made a successful career as a playback singer, lending her voice to songs in Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Oriya and Gujarati. Some of his popular tracks include ‘You are the ocean, you are the shore’, ‘Pardesiya Tere Desh Mein’, ‘Bekarar Dil Tut Gaya’, ‘Bandhi Re Kahe Preet’, ‘Saat Samundar Paar’, ‘Monday Ko Hum Mile’, ‘Sona Re Tujhe Kaise Milon’, ‘Yeh Pyara Laage Tera Chehra’, And ‘Yeh Pyaar Kiya Hai’,
Born in a musically inclined family in Hisar, Haryana, she was the niece of renowned classical singer Pandit Jasraj. He started singing at the age of nine and started his professional career with his brother Mandhir Pandit. His siblings include Lalit Pandit, Jatin Pandit and actor Vijayta Pandit.
His untimely demise has left a void in both the acting and music worlds. Tributes are expected from industry colleagues, fans and admirers.
