Sunny Deol’s much-awaited military drama Border 2 got off to a strong start. The Anurag Singh directed film has collected approximately Rs. Started with earnings of Rs. 28 crores at the Indian box office. While the film emerged as the second biggest opener for Sunny Deol after Gadar 2, it is the best opening of the career for the rest of the cast, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty.
Border 2 equaled the opening day figures of War 2 and became the 11th highest opener among original Hindi films in the post-pandemic era. Had the initial shows not been canceled due to print delivery delays, the film would have crossed Chhaava (Rs 29.50 crore) and come close to the first day figures of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (Rs 33 crore). Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 is at 7th position with first day earnings. 39 crores nett.
The top two positions in this exclusive list belong to Shahrukh Khan’s Jawan and Pathan respectively. While the former opened with Rs. 64 crore nett, the latter had an opening of Rs. 55.75 crore nett. The woman remains at the third position with Rs 2. 53 crores, followed by Animal’s Rs. 51 crores, Tiger 3’s Rs. 41 crores and Singham Again’s Rs. 40.25 crores. Check out the full list below.
