VD14 titled Ranbaali: Vijay Deverakonda turns into a brave ‘Jungle’, Rashmika Mandanna joins as co-lead

Vijay Deverakonda is all set to hit the big screen once again this year with a new action film. The actor has officially shared a glimpse of the upcoming film, titled Raanabali.

The period action film will star Rashmika Mandanna as the co-lead, reuniting with Vijay on the silver screen after Dear Comrade (2019).

The official glimpse of Ranbaali reveals a story set in 1878, where a brave man fights against the unjust rule of the British to ensure the welfare of his people. In his efforts to stand up for them, the man transforms himself into a wild animal and ultimately turns into the hero they deserve.

The glimpse also gives a brief look at Vijay’s character, showing him riding on a horse pulling a British officer behind him.

While sharing the video, Vijay wrote, “The British called him ‘savage’.” I don’t disagree. He was ‘our’ barbarian! Introducing the one and only ‘Ranbaali’. And setting the record straight on our history that they tried to bury.”

Ranabaali is scheduled to release on September 11, 2026 and will be released in multiple languages ​​including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Directed by Rahul Sankrityayan of Shyam Singha Roy fame, the music of the film is composed by the duo Ajay-Atul.

The project, with Rashmika Mandanna as the co-lead, marks his third film with her rumored boyfriend Vijay Deverakonda. Earlier, the actors had appeared together in the romantic-com Geetha Govindam and later in Dear Comrade.

Vijay Deverakonda was last seen in the lead role in the spy action thriller Kingdom. Directed by Gautham Tinnanuri, the film tells the story of a police officer who is assigned the task of infiltrating a gang, but discovers that it is led by his own elder brother. The film is currently available for streaming on Netflix.

Looking ahead, Vijay will next be seen in the action flick Rowdy Janardhanan directed by Ravi Kiran Kola. The high-octane actioner will star Keerthy Suresh in the co-lead role and is slated for a theatrical release in December 2026.
