After the success of manly (2014) and Mardaani 2 (2019), Rani Mukherjee is back as the flamboyant Inspector Shivani Shivaji Roy macho 3. The film, produced by Yash Raj Films (YRF), was originally scheduled to release on February 27. It was pushed back earlier this month and will now hit theaters in less than a week on January 30. Accordingly, the manufacturers completed the sensor process on time. In this article, IHNS will specifically focus on the cuts made in the action thriller.
Exclusive: CBFC replaces ‘girl’ with ‘ladki’ in Mardaani 3; Revises slapstick scenes
To start with, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) asked producers to insert drug disclaimers. Word ‘Baby girl’ was replaced by ‘Girl’. Since the scene in question involved sexual violence, the producers had to produce age proof of the actor to clarify that she was not a minor.
Then, the scene of slapping a girl was modified. The word ‘wh**e’ was replaced with ‘trader’ in the English subtitles. Derogatory references to the mother were muted. Words referring to sexual organs were replaced with appropriate words. Similarly, words with negative reference towards the Government of India were also asked to be changed.
In one scene, names of some countries were asked to be removed. When asked by the CBFC, the makers submitted a clarification regarding a dialogue delivered by the kidnappers in the film. Finally, producers were asked to include informational text on child and women trafficking.
Once these changes were made, macho 3 It was released on 14 January with a U/A 16+ certificate. The length of the film as mentioned on the censor certificate is 137.07 minutes. In other words, macho 3 2 hours, 17 minutes and 7 seconds long.
YRF is going for voluntary amendments
About 10 days after receiving the certificate, the manufacturers macho 3 Approached CBFC to make voluntary cuts in the film. Accordingly, changes were made in about 14 scenes. Scenes were either deleted or shortened. These cuts are in the range of 9 seconds and 59 seconds.
Thanks for these cuts, macho 3 Now 6 minutes and 30 seconds shorter. The new run time of the film is 130.37 minutes i.e. 2 hours 10 minutes and 37 seconds. The voluntary cut was approved by the CBFC on January 23.
