Patriot, starring Mammootty and Mohanlal, is set to release on the big screens this year, marking the reunion of the superstars after many years. Ahead of Republic Day 2026, the makers have unveiled the first-look poster of the lead cast and confirmed that a new update will arrive on January 26, 2026, at 10:10 am.
Patriot first look: Mammootty and Mohanlal cross-post poster for espionage action drama
Mammootty and Mohanlal shared the first-look posters of Patriot on their respective social media handles. While Mamukka shared the poster of the Thudaram star, Leighton returned the gesture by sharing the poster of Mammootty, with both the actors using the same caption.
Unveiling the first look, the actors wrote, “Patriots. Set your reminder. Tomorrow | 10:10am. Stay tuned…”
Mohanlal and Mammootty’s workfront
After appearing in the period fantasy action film Vrishabh, Mohanlal has started his next project with Thudram director Tharun Murthy. The upcoming film, tentatively titled L366, is touted to be a police action-comedy.
Although more details are awaited, shooting has officially begun, with Mohanlal opting for his classic mustache look and removing his beard for the role. Although the official cast has not been announced yet, actress Mira Jasmine is expected to play the lead role.
Looking ahead, Mohanlal has also played cameo roles in films like Thudakkam, Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer 2, and Jayasurya’s Kathanar – The Wild Sorcerer.
Mammootty, on the other hand, recently appeared in a cameo role in Chhatha Pacha. The actor has also started shooting for his next film Padayatra, directed by veteran filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan. The film also stars Grace Antony and Indrans in lead roles.
Additionally, the superstar also has projects with TTT fame director Nitish Sahdev and producers of Marco.
