Sunny Deol’s recent release Border 2 has taken a great start at the box office. The military drama directed by Anurag Singh started its journey with a collection of Rs 200 crore at the box office. Earned Rs 27.50 crore on the first day in India. With such an impressive start, Border 2 emerged as the second biggest opener for Sunny Deol.
Border 2 fell behind only the 2023 release Gadar 2, which marked Sunny Deol’s comeback at the box office. This film, directed by Anil Sharma, maintained the record of the first day, which was a huge collection. 39 crores nett in India. Gadar 2 not only had a record opening but also emerged as the biggest grossing film of Hindi cinema. The latest Sunny Deol starrer should also aim for the same. Ahead of Republic Day, Border 2 is looking to post a solid score in its first week.
Among Sunny Deol’s biggest opener films, his previous release film Jatt had secured the third position. Directed by Gopichand Malineni, Jatt debuted at Rs. Nett in India 9.50 crores.
